About Erquy en bulles
Every autumn, Erquy en Bulles brings together comic book enthusiasts at the Thalassa gymnasium in Erquy, located on the coast of Côtes-d'Armor. The festival was born from a local theory championed by Jean-Pierre Allain, a fan of both comics and vintage cars, who saw the town as a source of inspiration for the village of Asterix. The Erquy en Bulles association, created to promote comics and children's literature, has been organizing the event since 2020, featuring book signings and meetings with Breton authors.
Erquy en bulles — edition 2026
The seventh edition of Erquy en bulles will take place on October 17th and 18th, 2026, at the Thalassa gymnasium. The festival continues its original mission: to showcase Breton comic book authors and introduce their work to a family-friendly audience.
Programme Erquy en bulles 2026
Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th, 2026
- 10 am–6 pm — Comic Book Fair: signings and meet-and-greets with guest authors · Gymnase Thalassa
- 10 am–6 pm — Exhibitors: Éditions du Dahouët, Éditions Idées+, Éditions de la Fibule, Espace Culturel Leclerc de Pléneuf-Val-André, Tonnerre de Bulles, Le temps de trouver quelque chose (second-hand books) · Gymnase Thalassa
- Ongoing — Drawing walls open to all ages
- Ongoing — Festival stagecoach: a short carriage ride (€2 per person)
- Ongoing — Festival shop: posters and bookplates for sale
- Ongoing — Youth volunteer raffle: ask at the entrance (book of 6 tickets €10, single ticket €2)
- Ongoing — Refreshments on-site: galettes-saucisses, crêpes, hot and cold drinks
- Sunday morning — Vintage vehicle exhibition featuring three local clubs
François Walthéry 80th Anniversary Exhibition
- Wednesday, October 14th to Sunday, October 18th, 10 am–12:30 pm and 3 pm–6:30 pm — 45 drawings created by various authors for François Walthéry's 80th birthday, available for purchase · Galerie d'art Bernard Nonnet, 5 rue du 19 mars 1962 (exhibition on loan from Tonnerre de Bulles)
- Children's workshops: to be announced by the organizer.
