Contes en Scène: The Magic of Storytelling in Locminé

Every autumn, the Festival Contes en Scène transforms Locminé and the towns of Centre Morbihan into a vast theater dedicated to the art of storytelling. Organized by Centre Morbihan Culture, an inter-municipal cultural structure, this family festival has offered a week of live performances centered around storytelling, spoken word, and imagination for children and their families since 2015.

A Program to Awaken the Imagination

The Festival Contes en Scène program is built around 8 shows and 15 performances spread across 7 different venues in the Centre Morbihan territory. The festival highlights Breton companies and emerging artists through an eclectic program: revisited traditional tales, puppet shows, shadow theater, musical storytelling, and contemporary creations. Each show is designed to awaken the senses, stimulate curiosity, and nourish the imagination of the youngest.

Shows for All Ages

The festival offers shows suitable for all ages: creations for toddlers from 1 year old to performances for older children and teenagers, as well as family shows. This diversity allows every member of the family to find a show that suits them and to share moments of collective wonder.

A Festival Rooted in its Territory

The Festival Contes en Scène extends beyond Locminé, taking over cultural and heritage sites in Centre Morbihan: performance halls, libraries, schools, and community spaces host the shows. This multi-site presence allows it to reach a wide audience and keep the art of storytelling alive in the rural towns of inland Morbihan.

Centre Morbihan Culture, the Territory's Cultural Engine

Centre Morbihan Culture, which organizes the festival, is an inter-municipal cultural structure supported by the community of communes of Centre Morbihan. In addition to the Festival Contes en Scène, it programs a rich cultural season of shows, concerts, and events throughout the year, actively contributing to the cultural influence of the territory. Ticketing is available online and at the Locminé Tourist Office.
