About Étranges Scènes

Étranges Scènes (Sites en Scène - Drôles de Rues) is the free music and performing arts festival that enlivens Jonzac every summer. Organized at the foot of the ramparts of the Château de Jonzac, this festival, labeled Sites en Scène de Charente-Maritime, offers two evenings of eclectic concerts ranging from pop-rock to French variety, with street performances, sound and light shows by the Arche en Sel company.

Music at the foot of the castle

Étranges Scènes transforms the foot of the ramparts of the Château de Jonzac into an open-air stage for two exceptional summer evenings. Labeled Sites en Scène de Charente-Maritime, this free and family-friendly festival benefits from a magnificent bucolic and rural setting, with the medieval castle on its rocky spur as a natural backdrop.

Eclectic and accessible programming

Every year in mid-July, the festival offers a varied musical program: pop, rock, folk, French variety, and artistic discoveries. The 2025 edition, celebrating the festival's 20th anniversary, will feature artists such as Kimberose, Broken Back, Nach, Okali, Bokal, and JB Solo Orchestra. The Arche en Sel company illuminates the site with a sound and light show, and the band Splash provides musical interludes. The event is open to all and particularly suitable for families.
