Festi'Val de Vienne: A Cultural and Gourmet Journey

Organized by the Touraine Val de Vienne Community of Communes, Festi'Val de Vienne is a unique traveling festival that follows the course of the Vienne river, a tributary of the Loire, through five towns in southern Touraine. This festival blends the discovery of river heritage, local gastronomy, and shows in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

A Five-Stage Journey Along the Vienne

The festival stops in the towns of Sazilly, Nouâtre, Marcilly-sur-Vienne, Pouzay, and L'Île-Bouchard, with each stop offering a specific program tailored to local riches. Visitors can follow the entire route or choose the stops that interest them most, creating their own discovery itinerary along the river.

Heritage and River Trips

Boat trips on the Vienne river offer a chance to discover the river landscape from the water, providing unique viewpoints of the villages, banks, and built heritage. Guided tours of local heritage — Romanesque churches, old houses, mills, historic bridges — complete this historical and artistic journey through the region.

Gastronomy and Local Products

Gastronomy is at the heart of Festi'Val de Vienne. A special Festi'Val de Vienne menu, created by local chefs and restaurateurs, is offered in partner restaurants. Tastings of local products — Chinon appellation wines, goat cheeses, Touraine rillettes, regional specialties — are organized at each stop. An artisans' village brings together local producers and creators.

Concerts, Shows, and Activities

The cultural program includes open-air concerts, street performances, and activities for the whole family. Traveling music accompanies visitors from one stop to the next, creating a festive soundtrack for this journey through the region. Participatory workshops and games complete the range of activities.

L'Île-Bouchard: The Festival's Climax

L'Île-Bouchard, a small town of character at the confluence of the Vienne and Manse rivers, traditionally marks the festival's climax. With its Saint-Léonard priory featuring remarkable Romanesque capitals, its ancient bridges, and its preserved urban fabric, the town offers an ideal heritage setting for the closing festivities.
