Locally known as « L'Afrique à Bagnols », this cultural and solidarity festival has been organized since 1992 by the association Peuples Solidaires Bagnols sur Cèze. For about ten days, it showcases the richness and diversity of African cultures through exhibitions, concerts and world music, shows, storytelling, theater, dance, film screenings, conferences, and educational workshops. The great African market, a highlight of the festival, brings together artisans and solidarity stands at the multicultural hall in Bagnols-sur-Cèze (Gard).
Since 1992, the association Peuples Solidaires has organized the « L'Afrique à Bagnols » festival in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, in the Gard rhodanien. This awareness festival combines culture and information about Africa: crafts, literature, storytelling, theater, dance, cinema, world music concerts, conferences, and an educational approach aimed at schoolchildren.
The festival traditionally takes place in November, over about ten days. The 31st edition was held from November 2 to 15, 2023, and the 33rd edition from November 3 to 13, 2025. The editions take place in several locations in the city and its surroundings: the multicultural hall, the Saint-Maur Rhone art center, the Bagnols-sur-Cèze media library, as well as the cinema in Pont-Saint-Esprit.
An eagerly anticipated highlight, the great African market brings together artisans and associations around solidarity stands, generally over three days at the heart of the festival. A humanitarian event, « L'Afrique à Bagnols » supports international solidarity projects led by Peuples Solidaires.
