About Biotope

The Biotope Festival is a festival dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity and the environment, organized annually in spring in the Grand Saint-Émilionnais (Gironde). Led by the Biotope Festival association, established in this wine-growing region since 2016, it offers conferences, round tables, workshops, screenings, and public events focused on major environmental issues, as well as awareness-raising actions in schools.

Biotope Festival, the environment at the heart of Saint-Émilionnais

The Biotope Festival is an event dedicated to reflection and action in favor of biodiversity and the environment. Organized by the Biotope Festival association in the Grand Saint-Émilionnais since 2016, it is aimed at the general public, schoolchildren, and professional stakeholders in the region.

Conferences, workshops, and awareness-raising

Each edition addresses a different environmental theme through conferences, round tables, educational workshops, and screenings led by invited speakers. The festival particularly focuses on the challenges of wine-growing, agricultural, maritime, and river territories.

A festival rooted in its territory

Beyond the festival, the association conducts awareness-raising activities in schools, supports municipalities, and promotes access to local products through the « Mon Restau Responsable » initiative. Editions are held in Saint-Émilion, notably at the Hall et jardin des Dominicains (rue Guadet), and involve numerous partner associations.

Biotope — edition 2026

The 10th edition of the Biotope Festival was held from Friday, May 15th to Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, in Saint-Émilion, centered around the theme "Alive?!". This festival, dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity and the environment, brought together conferences, round tables, workshops, and public events at the Hall and Garden of the Dominicans, rue Guadet.
