International Ceramics Festival in Sadirac (Gironde) — potters' market and guest of honor Marc Uzan in 2026
Festival Céramique en Fête is a major event for contemporary ceramics in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Organized annually since 1988 by AGAP (Association des Gens et Amis de la Poterie) in Sadirac (33670), Gironde, this international festival brings together over 40 ceramists from all over Europe on the second weekend of June under the André Lapaillerie hall, on Place Fouragnan. A potters' market, demonstrations, workshops, conferences, nocturnal firings, and concerts make it an unmissable event for both amateurs and professionals of the fire arts.
Festival Céramique en Fête is one of the oldest festivals dedicated to ceramics in France. Organized annually since 1988 by AGAP (Association des Gens et Amis de la Poterie) in the village of Sadirac (33670), in the heart of Gironde, it traditionally takes place on the second weekend of June under the André Lapaillerie hall, on Place Fouragnan.
The heart of the festival is a large potters' market bringing together over 40 professional ceramists from all over Europe. Visitors and collectors can discover and buy unique pieces directly from the artists: stoneware, porcelain, raku, earthenware, glazed earthenware, ceramic sculpture. Each edition honors a guest ceramist whose personal exhibition is visible all summer at the Maison de la Poterie. In 2026, the guest of honor is the Tunisian ceramist Marc Uzan, whose exhibition « 1000°Celsius » is presented at the Maison de la Poterie from April 24 to June 14, 2026.
The festival offers a very rich program of activities throughout the weekend: throwing and modeling demonstrations, spectacular raku firing and nocturnal firings, free workshops for children, conferences, screenings, meetings with guest artists. The free Saturday evening concert, traditionally animated by a regional group, concludes the first day in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Sadirac is one of the oldest pottery centers in Southwest France, with activity attested since the 14th century. The Maison de la Poterie, a municipal cultural facility, perpetuates this memory through its permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, introductory workshops, and courses supervised by professional ceramists. The festival naturally extends this strong local identity around the fire arts.
Organized by the AGAP association with the support of the Sadirac town hall, the festival relies on the commitment of a team of passionate volunteers. Beyond the market and activities, it is a privileged moment of encounter between professional ceramists, collectors, amateurs, and families, in the green setting of the Entre-Deux-Mers.
The 39th edition of the Festival Céramique en Fête will be held on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, 2026 in Sadirac (Gironde), under the André Lapaillerie hall. More than 40 European ceramists, demonstrations, workshops, a free concert, and an exhibition by guest of honor Marc Uzan.
The Festival Céramique en Fête returns to Sadirac (33670) for its 39th edition on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, 2026, under the André Lapaillerie hall (Place Fouragnan). As every year, AGAP brings together more than 40 professional ceramists from all over Europe for two days of market, demonstrations, meetings, and festivities centered around the fire arts.
Tunisian ceramist Marc Uzan (born in Sousse in 1955) is this edition's guest of honor. For over 40 years, he has explored forms and glazes to create pieces that combine tradition and innovation. His solo exhibition « 1000°Celsius » is presented at the Maison de la Poterie de Sadirac from April 24th to June 14th, 2026 (Tuesday-Saturday 2 PM-6 PM, including public holidays, free admission). The opening took place on Friday, April 24th at 6 PM, followed by a meeting and discussion with the artist.
The heart of the festival remains the large potters' market, which brings together around forty professional ceramists from France, as well as from several European countries. Each artist presents their pieces at their stand, directly meeting the public: sculptors, throwers, faience makers, raku, porcelain, stoneware, glazed earthenware. It's an opportunity to buy directly from the artist, discuss techniques and approaches, and enrich a collection.
As every year, the weekend program offers throwing and modeling demonstrations by professional ceramists, live raku firings, and the spectacular night firing on Saturday evening. Children benefit from free workshops animated throughout the weekend. Conferences and screenings complete the program.
On Saturday evening, a free open-air concert traditionally provided by a regional group closes the first day in a festive atmosphere. (Musical program announced closer to the event by AGAP — see ceramiqueagap.com or the Instagram account @ceramic_agap_sadirac.)
The detailed day-by-day program (precise times for demonstrations, conferences, night firing, concert) is usually published by AGAP a few weeks before the event, on ceramiqueagap.com and the association's Facebook page. In the typical format of previous editions:
