The great playful festival of Perche
The Festival du Jeu de La Loupe, named « Si On Jouait », is a family-friendly and free event dedicated to board games, giant wooden games, role-playing games, and outdoor playful activities. Organized annually in May in the park of the castle and the town hall of La Loupe, it hosts game creators, tournaments, a temporary treetop adventure course, and sports activities. This friendly gathering, supported by the City of La Loupe and the Terres de Perche community of municipalities, brings together young and old around the pleasure of gaming, in a relaxed and accessible atmosphere for everyone.
Created in 2023, the « Si On Jouait » festival in La Loupe has quickly become a highlight of the cultural and family calendar of the Perche eurélien. Set in the castle park and the town hall of La Loupe, this free event offers a whole weekend dedicated to games in all their forms, from classic board games to outdoor sports activities.
The festival offers a remarkably diverse range of activities. More than ten game creators present their prototypes during a creation contest, allowing the public to test new games in preview. Tournaments are organized throughout the weekend, including competitions for Azul, Railway Tycoon, chess, and Werewolf, supervised by local gaming associations such as Les Meeples de Saint-Éliph and L'Antre du Blup.
Oversized wooden games, KAPLA construction sets, and areas dedicated to toddlers ensure a welcome adapted to each age group. Introductions to role-playing games, including Arkham Horror, complete the offering for fans of narrative adventures.
The festival's originality also lies in its outdoor activities. A temporary treetop adventure course with zip lines and monkey bridges is set up in the castle park, offering a unique adventure experience. A pedal kart circuit, maritime climbing workshops (Accrovoile), Laser Run, and numerous sports challenges — cornhole, disc golf, Mölkky, panna — allow visitors to burn off energy between board game sessions.
Among the festival's highlights, the life-size giant Cluedo invites young and old to solve a mystery within the park grounds. Media education workshops through games and a playful hike on Sunday morning enrich the program. On-site catering and free admission make « Si On Jouait » a particularly friendly and accessible event, true to the spirit of shared play.
The 4th edition of the Si On Jouait festival will be held on May 30 and 31, 2026 in La Loupe. A free weekend dedicated to board games, tournaments, treetop adventure course, giant Cluedo, and sports activities for the whole family.
