FIJO: Ohlungen, Capital of Games
Since 2022, the small town of Ohlungen, nestled in the north of Bas-Rhin between Haguenau and Niederbronn-les-Bains, transforms every spring into a true capital of games thanks to the FIJO — Festival Incontournable des Jeux d'Ohlungen. Created by the association Jeux m'éclate, this gaming event is experiencing remarkable growth and is establishing itself as one of the major gaming events in Alsace.
Three Days of Gaming Immersion
FIJO unfolds over three days — from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening — in the Ohlungen multi-purpose hall. The space is organized into several thematic areas offering an exceptional diversity of gaming experiences:
- Board Games: A vast space dedicated to modern and classic board games, where passionate facilitators offer introductory games of the latest releases and board game classics.
- Retrogaming: A retro space with vintage consoles and arcade machines for nostalgic gamers and the curious who wish to (re)discover the video games of the 80s and 90s.
- Role-Playing Games: Sessions led by experienced game masters, accessible to beginners and seasoned role-players alike.
- Tournaments: Competitions in board games, chess, and card games with prizes to be won.
- Immersive Escape Game: An escape game designed specifically for the festival, plunging participants into an enigmatic adventure.
- Axe Throwing: An original activity supervised by professionals for a moment of skill and relaxation.
- Giant Wooden Games: Oversized games set up outdoors for the enjoyment of young and old alike.
Alsatian Food and Friendly Atmosphere
The association Jeux m'éclate has considered the comfort of the players: on-site catering offers Alsatian specialties — spaetzle, grills, flammekueche, pizzas, fresh pretzels, cakes, and sweets — to refuel without leaving the festival universe. The atmosphere is relaxed and inclusive: FIJO welcomes casual gamers and enthusiasts, families with children, and groups of friends.
A Thriving Gaming Community
The association Jeux m'éclate, based in Ohlungen, animates the gaming life of northern Alsace throughout the year with regular game nights. FIJO is its flagship event, whose growing success testifies to the increasing enthusiasm for board games and gaming events in Alsace.
FIJO — edition 2026
The 5th edition of FIJO — Festival Incontournable des Jeux d'Ohlungen — takes place from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Espace Sport et Culture d'Ohlungen, across 2,500 m² dedicated to games in all their forms: board games, card games, chess, video games, retrogaming, virtual reality, role-playing games, escape games, tournaments, giant wooden games, inflatable structures, and axe throwing.
Fifth edition: three days 100% games in northern Alsace
The association Jeux m'éclate returns in 2026 for the 5th edition of its Festival Incontournable des Jeux d'Ohlungen (FIJO), from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14. Across 2,500 m² at the Espace Sport et Culture d'Ohlungen, the festival offers three non-stop days of fun activities for all ages, with a program enriched year after year.
An area divided into major play zones
- Board games and card games — a large area with animators to introduce the latest novelties and the great classics of board games.
- Chess — animations and free play in partnership with the Cercle d'Échecs de Haguenau.
- Video games, retrogaming, and virtual reality — modern consoles, vintage arcade machines, and VR headsets.
- Role-playing games — sessions led by game masters, accessible to beginners and experienced role-players alike.
- Escape game — immersive escape game specially designed for the festival.
- Tournaments — competitions of board games, chess, and card games with prizes to be won.
- Giant wooden games and inflatable structures — for families and the youngest.
- Axe throwing — original activity supervised by professionals.
- Additional activities — darts, foosball, air hockey, pinball, billiards, LEGO building.
Activities requiring registration in addition to free entry
Certain activities (tournaments, escape games, role-playing game sessions, introductory workshops) require prior registration, in addition to the festival entry ticket. Registrations open in April on the association's HelloAsso website.
On-site catering and childcare
Catering and refreshment stand open continuously all weekend. Childcare is available to allow parents to enjoy the festival.
Ticket sales open from spring
2026 tickets are open on HelloAsso, with a preferential pre-sale rate from April 1st to May 10th, 2026 (weekend pass at 5 € instead of 7 €). On-site, entry remains 3 € per day for ages 5 and up.

Access
- By car: Ohlungen is 40 km north of Strasbourg and 10 km north of Haguenau. Take the A4 then D919 towards Niederbronn, exit Ohlungen. Free parking on site.
- By bus: Regular lines from Haguenau.
