Jazz festival in the Bergeracois region blending traditional, modern, Latin, blues, and soul jazz
Created in 2004, the Festival Jazz Pourpre en Périgord has become a must-attend event on the jazz scene in the Southwest. Every May, the Jazz Pourpre association programs concerts in the Bergeracois region, with a closing weekend on Place Gambetta in Bergerac.
The festival stands out for its commitment to making jazz accessible to everyone. The program blends traditional, modern, Latin, blues, soul, and funk jazz, with free and paid concerts. The final weekend features two stages — La Boîte de Jazz and the Guinguette — a gourmet market, and a creators' artisan village.
The Jazz Pourpre association is involved in music education with Young Audience shows, meet-and-greets with young artists from Marciac and Monségur, as well as conferences and jazz aperitifs throughout the festival.
The 22nd edition of the Jazz Pourpre en Périgord Festival takes place from May 22 to 31, 2026, over ten days, in Bergerac and the Bergeracois region. On the program: 27 concerts, 140 musicians, two stages at Place Gambetta (La Boîte de Jazz and Le Village), a free opening weekend in Gardonne, educational concerts, jazz aperitifs, and the Main Stage at the Centre Culturel Michel Manet with Ladyva, the queen of boogie-woogie.
