Orléans Film Festival dedicated to emerging talents
Created in 2019 by the association Les InviZibles, the Orléans Film Festival is an annual event dedicated to discovering emerging talents and democratizing the 7th art. Every autumn, the festival takes over the Cinéma Pathé and several venues in Orléans for four days of previews, "3 Minutes Chrono" short film competitions, casting workshops, masterclasses, and meetings with professionals. Open to all without distinction, the festival highlights invisible filmmakers and provides a springboard for creators from the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Founded in March 2019 by Amir Kaddari, the Les InviZibles festival was born from a simple yet powerful ambition: to make the invisible visible. Based in Orléans, this film festival has become, in just a few years, a must-attend event in Orléans' cultural life, attracting an ever-growing audience to the Cinéma Pathé Place de Loire and several partner venues in the city.
Les InviZibles stands out for its strong commitment to equal opportunities and inclusion. The festival pursues four major objectives: promoting equal opportunities and gender equality, discovering regional and national talents, developing knowledge of the film industry job market, and strengthening skills in the dramatic arts. Each edition offers people of all ages, without social or professional distinction, the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of cinema through meetings, training sessions, immersions, and introductions.
The centerpiece of the festival, the "3 Minutes Chrono" (3MC) competition, invites aspiring filmmakers each year to create a short film of three minutes maximum on a given theme, using the equipment of their choice: camera, smartphone, tablet, or photo camera. A selection committee chooses the ten best films, which are screened during a special session followed by an awards ceremony presented by a jury of professionals and the public. The Orlin'z Clip competition, dedicated to music videos, complements this competitive program.
Each edition features a rich program of previews with the film crews in attendance. The festival has hosted French cinema personalities such as Alexis Michalik, Jessica Palud, Rachid Djaïdani, Slimane Dazi, Grégory Gadebois, Samir Guesmi, and Youssef Hajdi. Masterclasses allow aspiring filmmakers to benefit from the experience of established directors and actors.
On Saturdays, the Cinema Village transforms Place de Loire into a fun and educational space accessible to everyone. Visitors can try their hand at green screen filming, discover cinema stunts supervised by professional stunt performers, participate in theatrical improvisation sessions, and explore the behind-the-scenes of filmmaking. On Sundays, casting workshops led by professional casting directors enable participants to learn acting techniques and improve their on-camera skills.
With the "Les z'inZinviZibles" category, the festival offers animated film screenings specially selected for young audiences, followed by adapted discussions. The "I am the Future" category is aimed at high school students with screenings of films made by young filmmakers, accompanied by debates on cinema professions and career paths in audiovisual.
