The only meeting in France between rugby and music
Born in 2019 in Moirans, the Festival Musifrat French Alps is the only event in France combining rugby and live music. Organized by the Fraternelle Rugby Moirans at the Stade de la Pérelle, this open-air festival offers two days of rock, pop, blues, soul, and reggae concerts each year in a friendly and family atmosphere, between Chartreuse and Vercors. Local and international artists share the stage for an unmissable musical event in Isère.
The Festival Musifrat French Alps is a unique musical event in France, born in 2019 from the combined passion for sport and music. Organized by the Fraternelle Rugby Moirans, an emblematic rugby club from the Isère commune, this festival is the result of an original initiative: to create a bridge between the world of rugby and live music, in a spirit of fraternity, sharing, and conviviality.
The first edition of Musifrat was held on June 29 and 30, 2019 at the Stade de la Pérelle in Moirans, with nine bands on stage and Manu Lanvin, a nationally renowned blues-rock guitarist and singer, as the headliner. From this first edition, the festival asserted its identity: a skillful blend of musical styles in a relaxed atmosphere, driven by the rugby club's volunteers. The Frat'Adapt project, launched concurrently, illustrates the festival's social commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities through wheelchair rugby.
Since its creation, the festival has continued to grow. The second edition in 2021 hosted Will Barber, discovered on The Voice with over 100 million views on YouTube. The third edition in 2022 featured Kyla Brox, an international figure in British blues, alongside bands like Bigger and Archange. The fourth edition in 2023 confirmed the festival's reach with an ever-richer and more diverse program.
Diversity is Musifrat's watchword. Each edition offers a varied musical palette that spans genres: rock, pop, blues, soul, funk, reggae, and contemporary music share the stage at the Stade de la Pérelle. The festival makes it a point of honor to combine emerging local bands from the Isère scene with artists recognized nationally and internationally, thus offering a valuable showcase for local talent.
Among the artists who have marked previous editions: Manu Lanvin, Will Barber, Kyla Brox, Bigger, Archange, Stefany Rydel, Don Papa, Semaphores, Miss Bee & The Bullfrogs, Spit Reckless, Crazy Jesse, Indylov, The White Rattlesnake, Faith In Agony, Freddy Miller and the Blue Steelers, Cherry Pills, and Peter Harper.
The festival takes place at the Stade de la Pérelle, located on Avenue Aldo Eriani in Moirans, in the heart of the Pays Voironnais. This open-air venue offers a remarkable natural setting with the Chartreuse and Vercors mountain ranges as a backdrop. Just 10 minutes from Voiron and 15 minutes from Grenoble, the stadium is easily accessible via the A48 motorway, exit 11. The space comfortably accommodates the public in a festive and family atmosphere.
Musifrat is not just about concerts. The festival offers a real village of activities with on-site catering (burgers, fries, hot dogs, ravioles, regional dishes), a bar with hot and cold drinks, a VIP area, exhibitor stands, tattoo artists, barbers, street performers, activities for children and adults, an exhibition of American cars and Harley-Davidsons, as well as rugby initiations. Artistic workshops allow the public to try their hand at different practices, reinforcing the event's participatory and inclusive spirit.
The 7th edition of the Festival Musifrat French Alps will be held on June 26 and 27, 2026, at the Stade de la Pérelle in Moirans. The festival will offer two days of open-air rock, pop, blues, and reggae concerts, accompanied by an activity village, catering, and rugby initiations, in the spirit of fraternity and conviviality that defines the event.
