Festi'Vallée: The Renarde Valley Festival

Born in 2000 on the initiative of music-loving residents, Festi'Vallée is an associative festival that enlivens the town hall park of Souzy-la-Briche every summer. This small village of 600 inhabitants is nestled in the heart of the Renarde valley, in the Hurepoix region of Essonne. More than twenty years after its creation, the festival remains true to its original spirit: a popular, friendly, and musical celebration, entirely organized by local volunteers.

The Renarde Valley: A Green Setting in Essonne

The Renarde valley is a natural micro-region in southern Essonne, crossed by the Renarde river. It includes about ten villages—Souzy-la-Briche, Villeconin, Saint-Yon, Breux-Jouy, Saint-Sulpice-de-Favières, Boissy-sous-Saint-Yon—in a preserved rural landscape, far from the hustle and bustle of the greater suburbs. The festival takes place in this bucolic setting, offering spectators a musical experience in nature.

A Festival Dedicated to Amateur and Emerging Musicians

Festi'Vallée's primary mission is to provide a stage for amateur musicians and local emerging bands. Each edition features several groups from the musical associations of the valley's towns and surrounding areas: rock, folk, French chanson, blues, variety, and sometimes world music groups. The atmosphere is resolutely friendly, with a food and drink area run by volunteers.

The 25th Edition — Festi'Vallée 2025

The 25th edition of Festi'Vallée was held on June 28 and 29, 2025, in the town hall park of Souzy-la-Briche. This quarter-century milestone was celebrated with a special program bringing together past and present local groups. The celebration brought together several hundred residents from the valley towns and beyond, confirming the special place Festi'Vallée holds in the local associative and cultural fabric.

The 26th Edition — Festi'Vallée 2026

The 26th edition of Festi'Vallée is expected in June 2026 in Souzy-la-Briche. The association will continue its mission of promoting local musicians and will once again offer a festive weekend to the residents of the Renarde valley and its surroundings. The program will be announced by the association on its website festi-vallee.net and its social media.

The Festi'Vallée Association

The Festi'Vallée association, headquartered at 4 chemin des Sources in Souzy-la-Briche, is run by a team of dedicated volunteers. Presided over by Philippe Panier, it relies on the involvement of about twenty active members who handle the logistical, artistic, and technical organization of the festival. The support of the town halls of the valley's municipalities and the Communauté de communes du Pays de Limours is essential for the event's sustainability.

Concerts in the Villages Throughout the Year

Beyond the summer festival, Festi'Vallée organizes concerts in the churches and village halls of the Renarde valley throughout the year, as well as a concert-dinner in March in Saint-Yon. This regular activity makes the association a major cultural player in rural life in Essonne.
