Created in 2001, the Fête Champêtre des Berges du Canal de Berry has established itself as a major summer event in Saint-Amand-Montrond. Every year in August, the event organized by the Comité des Fêtes brings together over 300 exhibitors along the banks of the Canal de Berry.
The festival extends over more than two kilometers of riverbanks, from the footbridge on Rue Marengo to the Clairins bridge. Visitors stroll through a picturesque setting where treasures from the past, artisanal products, and local flavors mingle. This large country fair offers antiques, flea market finds, crafts, and regional gastronomy.
The day is enlivened by several musical groups: Banda Sauldre et Sologne, the Steelband Pan'n'Co with its Caribbean sounds, and Les Échos du Chignon, specialists in hunting horns. From 6:30 PM, an open-air guinguette takes over with accordionist Baptiste Auclair to extend the festivities into the evening.
The 25th edition of the Fête Champêtre des Berges returns on August 9, 2026, with 300 exhibitors, musical entertainment, and a guinguette along the Canal de Berry.
The 25th Fête Champêtre des Berges promises an exceptional festive day with over 300 exhibitors spread over 2 kilometers of riverbanks, varied musical entertainment, and an open-air guinguette until the evening.
