The Fête de Draveil: Summer at Port aux Cerises

Draveil is a town in Essonne with around 30,000 inhabitants, located on the banks of the Seine, which boasts an exceptional natural asset: the Île de loisirs du Port aux Cerises. This 136-hectare artificial island, created in the 1970s on the banks of the Seine, is one of the largest outdoor leisure areas in Île-de-France. It provides the privileged natural setting for the town's summer festivities.

The Île de loisirs du Port aux Cerises has beaches, bodies of water, sports facilities, and large meadows ideal for hosting open-air events. The Great Summer Festivities of Draveil

Draveil's summer calendar is marked by several highlights:

• The National Day on July 13th: musette ball, dancing, guinguette, and fireworks at Port aux Cerises. A popular and family-friendly event eagerly awaited by the residents of Draveil.
• Île-de-France celebrates theater (late July): a free and family-friendly festival organized by the Île-de-France region, with 5 theater, circus, dance, and music performances over several days. In 2025, the 9th edition will take place from July 22nd to 27th.
• The Judo Tour (late July): a regional stage of the judo tour, with free introductory sessions for children and adults.
• Sports activities throughout the summer: kayaking, sailing, swimming, beach sports at Port aux Cerises.

The Leisure Island, a Permanent Park

Beyond the summer festivities, Port aux Cerises is open to the public all year round and offers leisure, sports, and relaxation activities for all ages. A water sports center, sports clubs, restaurants, and picnic areas make this place a must-visit in Essonne.

Draveil, the Green Town of Essonne

Draveil is one of the greenest towns in Essonne, with over 40% of its territory covered by natural and forest areas. The Forêt de Sénart borders the town to the east, offering walks and outdoor fitness trails. Sports and outdoor life are an essential component of Draveil's identity.

2025 Edition

The 2025 summer season in Draveil featured the National Day celebration on July 13th with fireworks, a musette ball, and a guinguette at Port aux Cerises. From July 22nd to 27th, Île-de-France fête le théâtre (9th edition) offered 5 free and family-friendly shows including theater plays, circus, and music. The Judo Tour concluded the events on July 28th.

2026 Edition

Draveil's 2026 summer season is anticipated with the same program: National Day at Port aux Cerises in July, a regional theater festival, and free sports activities throughout the summer.
