The Fête de la Mer d'Erquy is a beloved maritime festival held every summer to celebrate the rich seafaring heritage of this fishing port in the Côtes-d'Armor. Organized on the harbor by the Le Sloop d'Erquy association, the event shines a spotlight on the Sainte Jeanne, the town's iconic historic sailing ship. Highlights include sea excursions aboard the sloop and other traditional vessels, a gathering of classic boats, an open-air mass at the old port, live music, Breton dancing, market stalls, and traditional harbor-side dining. Admission is free for all.

A full day at the port of Erquy
On Sunday, August 9th, 2026, from 10 am to 11 pm, the port of Erquy will come alive for the Sea Festival organized by the Le Sloop d'Erquy association, the very group that maintains the Sainte Jeanne. For thirteen hours, the quay and the old port will host sea trips, an open-air mass, concerts, Breton dances, stalls, activities, and a raffle, with food and drink available throughout the day. The event takes place on rue du Port, in the heart of the fishing port in the Côtes-d'Armor region.
Sea trips on the Sainte Jeanne and La Pauline
Boarding begins at 10 am on the Sainte Jeanne and La Pauline. Built in 1994, the 24-meter-long sloop Sainte Jeanne is a designated "Boat of Heritage Interest" and serves as an ambassador for the town. She is operated by a crew of volunteers from the Le Sloop d'Erquy association, founded in 1992, which boasts around 300 members supported by about fifty local businesses. The Grand Léjon will also join the gathering of classic sailing ships, creating a picturesque scene of masts and brown sails along the quay.
Open-air mass at the old port
At 11 am, an open-air mass will be celebrated at the old port. This is the festival's traditional highlight, rooted in the "pardons" of sailors, bringing together crews, fishermen, locals, and visitors before the day transitions into music and festivities.
Concerts, Breton dances, and entertainment
The musical program runs from the afternoon well into the night. From 1:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Premiers de bordée and Ziako will perform in rotation at the port. At 6 pm, the "Lavandières d'Erquy" will lead traditional Breton dances and invite the public to join in. At 9 pm, Les Gaillards d'en face will perform the closing concert until 11 pm. Throughout the day, stalls, activities, and a raffle will be open to all.
Refreshments and food on the quay
Food and drinks are available on-site from morning until night: galettes saucisses, oysters, and moules-frites, served at the refreshment stand run by the association's volunteers. All proceeds from the day go toward the maintenance and sailing of the Sainte Jeanne, which is entirely managed by the volunteer crew.
