Every summer, from July to the end of August, the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey is transformed at nightfall thanks to the Nocturnes de l'Abbaye. This immersive night tour invites visitors to rediscover the thousand-year-old monument in a radically new way, along a poetic path combining light creations, sound compositions, and video projections.

A Subtle Blend of Technology and Heritage

The concept of the Nocturnes is based on an entirely original scenography that transforms every corner of the abbey into a living tableau. Threads of light snake and climb the architecture, stone contours come alive with golden reflections, images emerge from the night to reveal the grandeur and beauty of the place. Sound envelops the visitor in a dreamlike atmosphere, creating an unprecedented dialogue between centuries-old heritage and contemporary technologies.

Renewed Thematic Editions

The Nocturnes are renewed each year with an original creation:

• 2023 - The Millennium: To celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the abbey, Amaclio Productions created an exceptional show illuminating the monument's thousand-year history.
• 2024 - The Rediscovered Marvel: The sixth consecutive edition presented by Amaclio Productions, this tour highlighted the architectural beauty of the abbey through a subtle blend of sound, light, and video.
• 2025 - Dream of the Moon: A new creation by Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d'Images, this visual and sound night tour offered a poetic and contemplative experience, with four special evenings of live concerts in the abbey church.

Visitors wander freely through the abbey's halls, from the cloister to the abbey church, from the guest hall to the crypt, discovering new illuminated perspectives at every step. The night visit offers an intimacy with the monument impossible to experience during the day, in an atmosphere of contemplation and wonder.

The Nocturnes de l'Abbaye are part of the development policy of the Centre des monuments nationaux and the Public Establishment of Mont Saint-Michel. This event contributes to the international influence of Mont-Saint-Michel and offers a unique nocturnal cultural experience in Normandy, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each summer.
