Every summer, from July to the end of August, the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey is transformed at nightfall thanks to the Nocturnes de l'Abbaye. This immersive night tour invites visitors to rediscover the thousand-year-old monument in a radically new way, along a poetic path combining light creations, sound compositions, and video projections.
A Subtle Blend of Technology and Heritage
The concept of the Nocturnes is based on an entirely original scenography that transforms every corner of the abbey into a living tableau. Threads of light snake and climb the architecture, stone contours come alive with golden reflections, images emerge from the night to reveal the grandeur and beauty of the place. Sound envelops the visitor in a dreamlike atmosphere, creating an unprecedented dialogue between centuries-old heritage and contemporary technologies.
Renewed Thematic Editions
The Nocturnes are renewed each year with an original creation:
- 2023 - The Millennium: To celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the abbey, Amaclio Productions created an exceptional show illuminating the monument's thousand-year history.
- 2024 - The Rediscovered Marvel: The sixth consecutive edition presented by Amaclio Productions, this tour highlighted the architectural beauty of the abbey through a subtle blend of sound, light, and video.
- 2025 - Dream of the Moon: A new creation by Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d'Images, this visual and sound night tour offered a poetic and contemplative experience, with four special evenings of live concerts in the abbey church.
A Unique Experience in the World
Visitors wander freely through the abbey's halls, from the cloister to the abbey church, from the guest hall to the crypt, discovering new illuminated perspectives at every step. The night visit offers an intimacy with the monument impossible to experience during the day, in an atmosphere of contemplation and wonder.
A Major Cultural Event
The Nocturnes de l'Abbaye are part of the development policy of the Centre des monuments nationaux and the Public Establishment of Mont Saint-Michel. This event contributes to the international influence of Mont-Saint-Michel and offers a unique nocturnal cultural experience in Normandy, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each summer.
Nocturnes de l'Abbaye — edition 2026
For summer 2026, the Nocturnes de l'Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel return with Colorama, a brand new visual night tour by Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d'images. From July 3 to August 31, 2026, every evening from 7:00 PM, the millennial abbey can be rediscovered at nightfall through a poetic stroll combining light, video, and sound creation.

After « Rêve de Lune » in 2025, the company Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d'images presents a new original creation for the 2026 Nocturnes: Colorama, a visual night tour specifically designed for the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey. The show is announced as « a brand new show for the Mont-Saint-Michel nocturnes », continuing the sensitive and immersive experience that made previous editions successful.
When and where
The tour takes place every evening from July 3 to August 31, 2026, within the abbey grounds, starting from 7:00 PM. The stroll is free, at your own pace, until the heart of the night — the ideal time is announced after nightfall, when the light and projection displays fully reveal the monument's architecture.
A renewed artistic experience
Like every summer since 2018, the Nocturnes offer a unique creation, designed for the site and for the moment — blending heritage, digital art, and sound creation. Colorama is part of this tradition of immersive night shows that have attracted tens of thousands of visitors in recent years, coming to discover Mont-Saint-Michel in a radically new light.
Ticketing
Online ticketing is announced to open soon on the official Nocturnes website. Advance booking is highly recommended, as entry slots are regulated. On-site ticketing is also available. Detailed prices and conditions to be confirmed upon the opening of the 2026 ticketing.

Colorama — Night Walk 2026
For summer 2026, the company Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d'images presents Colorama, a new original creation designed for Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey. Color is the guiding thread of this immersive experience: a unique journey through emblematic spaces of the abbey, combining monumental projections, light creations, and artistic installations.
Evening Schedule
- 19:30 — Doors open and start of the night walk
- At nightfall — Ideal time to fully enjoy the light displays and projections on the monument's architecture
- 23:00 — Last entry
- 00:00 — Closing
The walk is free, at your own pace. The tour takes place every evening from Friday, July 3 to Monday, August 31, 2026.

By car: Official Mont-Saint-Michel parking on the mainland, then shuttle buses or pedestrian walkway. Allow time for walking to the abbey (approx. 30 minutes from the parking).

Open from 7:30 PM to midnight, last entry at 11:15 PM. Visit duration: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.
