About Mercredis Musiques du Monde

The Mercredis Musiques du Monde are a series of free world music concerts organized every Wednesday evening in the summer on the Boulevard de la Mer in Erquy, in the Côtes-d'Armor. Created in 2022, this mini-festival offers four to five evenings of world music concerts from mid-July to mid-August, preceded by a Breton music performance. Each edition revolves around a geographical theme — in 2025, the islands of the world — inviting the public on a musical journey from Cuba to Jamaica, from Japan to Reunion Island. Free entry, concerts start at 6:30 PM.

A musical journey around the world in Erquy

The Mercredis Musiques du Monde are a summer musical event in the town of Erquy, a seaside resort on the Cap d'Erquy in the Côtes-d'Armor. Created in 2022, this series of free concerts takes place every Wednesday evening from mid-July to mid-August on the Boulevard de la Mer, offering an exceptional maritime setting for open-air musical evenings.

Each edition of Mercredis Musiques du Monde revolves around a geographical theme that guides the musical programming. In 2024, the theme “Brittany invites the world” offered a musical overview of global music. In 2025, “Brittany invites the islands” took the audience on an island journey: Cuba, Japan, Jamaica, and Reunion Island were featured through the musical universes of talented artists.

A friendly and free format

Every Wednesday, the evening begins at 6:00 PM with a Breton music performance in the heart of the summer village, near the refreshment and catering area run by local associations. The main world music concerts begin at 6:30 PM on the Boulevard de la Mer. Entry is free and the atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, between sea and music.
