Free concerts in the troglodytic village of Troo
The Fête de la Musique à Troo is a unique musical event that takes place every year on June 21st in the troglodytic village of Troo, perched above the Loir valley in Loir-et-Cher. Organized by the association Au Cœur de Troo, this free event transforms the caves, medieval alleys, and natural spaces of this listed village into as many ephemeral stages where concerts of various styles resonate. As the capacity is limited by the unique geography of the site, booking is mandatory to attend this extraordinary musical celebration.
Every June 21st, the troglodytic village of Troo transforms into a unique musical celebration. Perched on a hillside overlooking the Loir valley, this village, listed among the most beautiful villages of Loir-et-Cher, offers a spectacular setting of caves dug into the rock, medieval alleys, and breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding countryside.
The association Au Cœur de Troo orchestrates this musical celebration, taking advantage of the extraordinary geography of the place. The troglodytic caves, with their remarkable natural acoustics, become intimate and enchanting concert halls. The Rue Haute, the backbone of the perched village, hosts open-air musicians. The hanging gardens, panoramic terraces, and medieval squares turn into ephemeral stages where music dialogues with stone and landscape.
The Fête de la Musique à Troo offers an eclectic program that embraces all genres: folk, French chanson, jazz, classical music, world music, acoustic rock, and original creations. Local and regional artists perform in the various spaces of the village, offering the public a musical stroll through the history and geology of Troo.
Troo is a jewel of Loir-et-Cher's heritage. The village houses a Romanesque collegiate church of Saint-Martin, a petrifying cave famous for its calcareous concretions, a talking well with astonishing acoustic properties, and a network of caves and troglodytic dwellings that bear witness to centuries of human occupation. The Fête de la Musique is the perfect opportunity to discover this unique heritage while enjoying privileged musical moments.
The village's configuration and the size of the troglodytic caves impose a limited capacity, making booking mandatory. This constraint also adds to the charm of the event: each concert is a moment of shared intimacy, far from large gatherings, where the proximity between artists and the public creates a warm and complicit atmosphere.
