Valmérapéro — edition 2026
The Valmérapéro return to Château de Valmer in Chançay for their 2026 edition. 2026 Valmérapéro Edition
For the 2026 edition, the Valmérapéro will take place every Tuesday evening from June 2 to August 25, 2026 at Château de Valmer, in Chançay (37). Evenings begin at 6:30 PM and continue until approximately 11 PM, on the Terrasse des Devants, facing the vineyard and the Brenne valley.
The concept
Born after the lockdown period, this event has become a classic of the Touraine summer. The idea is simple: gather with friends, family, or colleagues around a glass of Vouvray, as the sun sets behind the vines. There is no entrance fee: you only pay for your consumption (glasses of wine or bottles, artisanal grape juice, aperitif platters to share).
To taste on site
- The AOC Vouvray wines from Château de Valmer (dry, semi-dry, sweet, and traditional method sparkling), produced on site from the Chenin Blanc grape variety
- Artisanal grape juice from the estate for children and non-drinkers
- Aperitif platters with cheeses, cold cuts, and products from the château's conservatory vegetable garden
Reservation recommended
As the terrace capacity is limited to approximately 170 people, reservation is highly recommended, especially in July-August. Book directly with the château at 02 47 52 93 12 or via the calendar page of the official website.

Valmérapéro at Château de Valmer
The Valmérapéro are aperitif evenings held every Tuesday evening from June to August in the enchanting setting of the Château de Valmer in Chancay, in the heart of the Brenne valley. These summer events combine wine tasting, heritage discovery, and outdoor conviviality.
A Renaissance Château and its Remarkable Gardens
The Château de Valmer is a marvel of the Italian Renaissance built from the 16th to the 18th century. Its Italian-style hanging gardens, with fountains, statues, and balustrades, are spread over eight levels against a backdrop of a 60-hectare park. The estate also houses a rare troglodyte chapel dating from 1524 and a remarkable conservatory garden. The gardens are classified as "Jardin Remarquable" (Remarkable Garden) by the Ministry of Culture.
Wines from Château de Valmer
The Château de Valmer vineyard has been producing AOC Vouvray wines since 1888. All production is carried out on-site, from grape to bottle, by the owner. Valmérapéro evenings are an opportunity to taste these wines in their birthplace: dry, off-dry, sweet, and sparkling Vouvray wines, all made from the Chenin Blanc grape variety, the emblem of the Vouvray terroir.
Local Flavors and Conviviality
Valmérapéro evenings are not limited to wine tasting. Visitors can also savor carefully selected local delicacies: artisanal fruit juices, regional cheeses, and even some fresh vegetables from the château's conservatory garden. This combination of wines and local products creates an authentic and memorable taste experience.
The Touraine Art of Living
Valmérapéro embodies the Touraine art of living in its most refined form. The exceptional setting of the Renaissance gardens, the mild summer evenings, and the quality of the wines and food make every Tuesday a special moment. It is also an opportunity to stroll through the château's gardens, discover the botanical collections, and enjoy the evening light on the historic terraces.
