The Fête de la Musique in Bastia
As everywhere in France since 1982, Bastia celebrates the Fête de la Musique on June 21st, the day of the summer solstice. The event is organized by the City of Bastia: several stages are set up in the city center (place Saint-Nicolas, place du Marché, place Claude Papi, place d'Armes, Vieux Port, arcades du Théâtre, etc.) and host local Corsican artists and guest groups, in all musical styles — polyphonic songs, pop-rock, jazz, traditional music, electro, DJ sets.
The city's bars and restaurants also participate with concerts on their terraces and inside their establishments. All concerts are free and open access.
