The Fête de la Musique in Challans
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Challans, capital of the Marais breton-vendéen, into an open-air stage every June 21st. Amateur musicians and established groups perform for free in public spaces, from the city center to the Louis-Claude Roux meadow, until the heart of the night.
A two-day celebration
In 2026, the celebration extends over the weekend. On Saturday, June 20th, Challans city center is open to amateur musicians, singers, and choirs, in all styles (variety, funk, classical, jazz, pop-rock). On Sunday, June 21st, the day of the Fête de la Musique, the Comité des Fêtes de Challans orchestrates the big live evening at the Louis-Claude Roux meadow, extended with a bar and on-site catering until midnight.
The day is completed by an urban dance show presented by TKF School, Place Aristide Briand.
