Every June 21, Les Sables-d'Olonne celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur and professional artists perform for free in the city center, on the Remblai, in the pedestrian streets, and in the La Chaume district. Organized by the City of Les Sables-d'Olonne, the day is entirely free and open to all to celebrate the arrival of summer with music.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the Vendée seaside resort into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from city center terraces to quays, in all genres and for all audiences, late into the evening.
A celebration throughout the city
Usually, the festival unfolds in the heart of Les Sables-d'Olonne: pedestrian shopping streets, lively squares, cafe and restaurant terraces, the Remblai seafront, and the areas around the ports lend their settings to musicians. On the other side of the channel, the La Chaume district extends the celebration with its own events organized by local associations.
