The Fête de la Musique in Lisieux
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Lisieux into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces in the evening, in all genres and for all audiences, from large stages set up in squares to more intimate concerts in the city center's gardens and bars.
A celebration throughout the city center
Usually, the City of Lisieux sets up several stages in the heart of the city and multiplies concert venues: Place François Mitterrand, Salle Mosaïc, but also the town hall courtyard, the Esplanade de l'Espace Saint-Jacques, the bandstand of the Jardin de l'Évêché, and the Conservatoire courtyard host open-air performances, while bars and restaurants extend the celebration. Amateur groups, conservatory students, and established acts follow one another in a wide variety of styles.
