On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Piana celebrates its patron saint festival on the occasion of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. As every year, the day revolves around three highlights: the liturgy in the morning, the procession in the late afternoon, then the fireworks display from Arone beach in the evening.
This edition is part of the long tradition of the village's patron saint festival, a free event, open to all, which brings together residents of Piana, summer visitors, and visitors from all over Corse-du-Sud in an exceptional setting: the village, classified among The Most Beautiful Villages of France, overlooking the Gulf of Porto and the Calanche de Piana, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Location
Village of Piana (20115), Corse-du-Sud. The mass and procession take place in the heart of the village (Sainte-Marie church, town hall square). The fireworks are set off over Arone beach, approximately 12 km from the village via the D824.
Access
Piana is located on the D81 road between Porto and Cargèse, about 70 km north of Ajaccio. Parking is available around the village and in the Arone beach car park for the fireworks. On August 15th, attendance is high : arriving early is recommended.
