Patron Saint's Day Festival of Saint Michael in Bastelica, Corse-du-Sud

Bastelica is a mid-mountain village located at an altitude of 800 meters in Corse-du-Sud, in the Prunelli valley. Known for being the birthplace of Sampiero Corso, a major historical figure of the island, the village is organized around its parish church of Saint Michael, inaugurated on August 15th, 1895.

The 2025 edition gathered approximately 140 people, including many children who exceptionally benefited from a school holiday on this occasion.
Beyond its religious dimension, Saint Michael's Day is an opportunity for a strong village gathering, faithful to the traditions of Corsican patron saint festivals where religion and community life are closely linked. The festival is part of the commune's annual calendar alongside other events such as the chestnut festival or Saint John's Day.
