The Fête des 3 Vallées: an event rooted in the history of Saint-Chéron
Saint-Chéron is a rural town in Hurepoix, in the south of Essonne, located at the confluence of three small valleys: those of the Renarde, the Orge, and the Rémarde. It is from this unique geographical setting that the festival draws its name: the Fête des 3 Vallées.
Organized by the Syndicat d'Initiative de Saint-Chéron, the festival is held every spring and brings together thousands of visitors from all over southern Essonne to participate in this friendly, popular, and intergenerational event. In 2026, it will be its 53rd edition, proof of its lasting presence in local life.
A five-day festive program
The Fête des 3 Vallées takes place over five days (Wednesday to Sunday) and offers:
- Opening of the funfair at the Parc des Tourelles (next to the town hall): rides, attractions, and games for the whole family
- Flea market in the town center (Thursday and Sunday): hundreds of exhibitors over several kilometers of streets, one of the largest flea markets in southern Essonne
- Children's Afternoon (Friday) in the green park, Place Cicéri: games, street shows, creative workshops, and entertainment
- Lantern Parade: free distribution of lanterns to children, followed by a grand parade animated by the Harmonie de Saint-Chéron through the town's streets
- Reduced prices on rides (Friday and Sunday) until 8 p.m. for families
The flea market, star of the festival
The Fête des 3 Vallées flea market is one of the most popular in the department. Hundreds of professional and private exhibitors set up in the streets and squares of Saint-Chéron to offer antiques, second-hand goods, clothing, books, toys, and various items. It is a must-attend event for bargain hunters from all over the region.
Saint-Chéron, gateway to Hurepoix
A town of about 5,000 inhabitants, Saint-Chéron offers a preserved natural setting, halfway between the Plateau de Beauce and the Chevreuse valley. Its Romanesque church, its characterful houses, and its hiking trails make it an ideal getaway destination from Paris. Accessible by RER C (Saint-Chéron station) in less than an hour from Paris-Austerlitz.
Fête des 3 Vallées — edition 2026
The 53rd Fête des 3 Vallées takes place in Saint-Chéron (91530) from Wednesday, May 13 to Sunday, May 17, 2026 (Ascension weekend). Organized by the Tourist Office, it brings together a funfair at Parc des Tourelles, a giant flea market on Thursday in the town center, a children's afternoon, a free pop rock evening on Friday with the Orchestre Live One, and a grand quiz on Saturday. Free admission for all activities.
53rd Fête des 3 Vallées — May 13 to 17, 2026
The 53rd edition of the Fête des 3 Vallées enlivens Saint-Chéron for five days, from Wednesday, May 13 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, Ascension weekend. The Saint-Chéron Tourist Office continues its historical program: funfair at Parc des Tourelles, flea market in the town center, children's activities, free pop rock concert in the evening, and a friendly grand quiz.
Announced Highlights
- Funfair throughout the five days at Parc des Tourelles (next to the town hall), with rides and attractions for the whole family — reduced prices on certain days
- Flea market on Thursday, May 14 in the town center, rue Charles de Gaulle, with around a hundred Saint-Chéronnais exhibitors (individuals, associations, local merchants). Open to the public from 7 AM to 6 PM, free admission for bargain hunters.
- Children's Afternoon at the green park Place Cicéri: games, inflatable structures, workshops, and free snack
- Pop Rock Evening on Friday, May 15 from 7:30 PM (concert at 9 PM) with the Orchestre Live One — free admission, refreshment stand and food trucks on site. Alternative venue in case of rain: Les Closeaux gymnasium, route d'Étampes.
- Grand Quiz on Saturday, May 16 in the evening — alternative venue Salle du Pont de Bois, route d'Étampes, in case of rain
- Lantern parade animated by the Harmonie de Saint-Chéron through the streets of the village, with free distribution of lanterns to children
A historic popular festival of Hurepoix
For over five decades, the Fête des 3 Vallées has gathered thousands of visitors every spring from all over southern Essonne and beyond. Its name evokes the three valleys that meet in Saint-Chéron: la Renarde, l'Orge, and la Rémarde. It is one of the largest intergenerational popular events in Essonne Hurepoix.
The Thursday flea market is one of the most frequented in the department: it spreads over several streets in the town center and attracts bargain hunters from all over the region. Reserved for Saint-Chéronnais residents (individuals, associations, and merchants with their registration number), it maintains a village dimension and a neighborhood spirit.
