The Fête des 3 Vallées: an event rooted in the history of Saint-Chéron

Saint-Chéron is a rural town in Hurepoix, in the south of Essonne, located at the confluence of three small valleys: those of the Renarde, the Orge, and the Rémarde. It is from this unique geographical setting that the festival draws its name: the Fête des 3 Vallées.

Organized by the Syndicat d'Initiative de Saint-Chéron, the festival is held every spring and brings together thousands of visitors from all over southern Essonne to participate in this friendly, popular, and intergenerational event. In 2026, it will be its 53rd edition, proof of its lasting presence in local life.

A five-day festive program

The Fête des 3 Vallées takes place over five days (Wednesday to Sunday) and offers:

• Opening of the funfair at the Parc des Tourelles (next to the town hall): rides, attractions, and games for the whole family
• Flea market in the town center (Thursday and Sunday): hundreds of exhibitors over several kilometers of streets, one of the largest flea markets in southern Essonne
• Children's Afternoon (Friday) in the green park, Place Cicéri: games, street shows, creative workshops, and entertainment
• Lantern Parade: free distribution of lanterns to children, followed by a grand parade animated by the Harmonie de Saint-Chéron through the town's streets
• Reduced prices on rides (Friday and Sunday) until 8 p.m. for families

The flea market, star of the festival

The Fête des 3 Vallées flea market is one of the most popular in the department. Hundreds of professional and private exhibitors set up in the streets and squares of Saint-Chéron to offer antiques, second-hand goods, clothing, books, toys, and various items. It is a must-attend event for bargain hunters from all over the region.

Saint-Chéron, gateway to Hurepoix

A town of about 5,000 inhabitants, Saint-Chéron offers a preserved natural setting, halfway between the Plateau de Beauce and the Chevreuse valley. Its Romanesque church, its characterful houses, and its hiking trails make it an ideal getaway destination from Paris. Accessible by RER C (Saint-Chéron station) in less than an hour from Paris-Austerlitz.
