The great popular and associative festival of Épinay-sur-Orge
La Fête des Brandous is the most emblematic festive event in Épinay-sur-Orge, a town in Essonne crossed by the Orge river. Organized annually around the weekend before June 21st, it brings together thousands of residents and visitors in a friendly, colorful, and intergenerational atmosphere.
The festival traditionally opens with a carnival parade through the streets of the town center, which starts in the early afternoon to reach the town hall park. Musical groups, brass bands, and associations parade in costume, creating a colorful and festive atmosphere. This parade is an opportunity for young and old to unleash their creativity.
In the town hall park and surrounding streets, a dense program is offered throughout the weekend:
The name "Brandous" refers to a local festive tradition, perpetuated for many years by the town of Épinay-sur-Orge. The event brings together dozens of associations and volunteers who invest themselves to create a festival that is both popular, accessible to all, and a reflection of the town's diversity.
Each edition offers a surprise or a central theme that gives the event a particular identity. Participants are invited to take part in fun challenges, such as hunting for hidden intruders at the stands, which get the entire population moving.
A town of some 10,000 inhabitants, Épinay-sur-Orge is crossed by the Orge river and has remarkable green spaces, including the town hall park which hosts most of the activities. The town is part of the Cœur d'Essonne urban community and actively participates in the cultural animation of the territory through its numerous annual events.
The Fête des Brandous d'Épinay-sur-Orge returns on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2 PM to 1 AM, at the Town Hall park. This large popular and associative festival, organized by the town, celebrates the arrival of summer with a carnival parade in the town center, stands and activities from Épinay's associations, shows, games for all ages, a musical evening, and the traditional Saint-Jean bonfire. Free admission.
An unmissable event in Épinay's life, the Fête des Brandous returns on Saturday, June 13, 2026 to the Town Hall park, for a new edition marked by conviviality, sharing, and tradition. Organized by the town of Épinay-sur-Orge in conjunction with the local associative fabric, this festival celebrates the arrival of summer and highlights the community's associative life.
As every year, the festival begins with a colorful carnival parade that departs at 2 PM from the town center. Épinay's associations, children, and residents parade with music and good cheer, making as much noise as possible in the colors of their association, up to the Town Hall park where the festivities gain momentum from 3 PM.
Once at the park, the public discovers about twenty stands run by local associations who present their activities through stage demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, and participatory activities. Sports, cultural, solidarity: all facets of Épinay's associative dynamism are represented, in a festive and family atmosphere.
Numerous games and activities are offered for both children and adults: inflatable structures, dynamic course, basketball, trampoline, giant games, photobooth, sports demonstrations, and a treasure hunt among the stands. On the food side, associations offer a varied selection throughout the day and evening: tapas, duck breast, suckling pig, hot dogs, salads, churros, cotton candy, and refreshing drinks.
In the evening, the festival takes on a more musical dimension with open-air concerts, followed by the highlight of the night: the torchlight procession which joins the traditional Saint-Jean bonfire, lit on the esplanade. The festival then continues with a big dance animated by DJ and bands to dance until 1 AM.
The Fête des Brandous is an institution in Épinay-sur-Orge, publicly documented since the 1980s. Each year, it gathers several thousand visitors at the Town Hall park to collectively celebrate the village's identity, its associative fabric, and the arrival of summer. The 2026 edition is fully part of this tradition.
