The Fête des Fleurs et de l'Artisanat: Spring Celebration in Étrépagny
The Fête des Fleurs et de l'Artisanat in Étrépagny is a popular spring event in the Vexin Normand region. Organized by the municipality of Étrépagny, this festival is held annually in April or early May in the public garden, on Rue Georges Clémenceau, offering a green and flowery setting to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Over 50 Exhibitors in the Heart of the Public Garden
The festival brings together over 50 carefully selected exhibitors: nursery owners, horticulturists, and florists offering a wide range of plants, shrubs, flowers, and garden accessories. Artisans – potters, blacksmiths, basket weavers, textile designers – present their original creations. Local producers complete the offering with products from the Norman region: honey, jams, cider, and regional specialties.
Activities for All Ages
The Fête des Fleurs is more than just a market; it's a true popular festival with numerous free activities. The Harmonie d'Étrépagny offers open-air concerts, creating a festive musical atmosphere. The band Friday Music Friends also entertains during certain periods. For children, pony rides and trampolines are available. Car enthusiasts will appreciate the exhibition of vintage cars and motorcycles, which adds a nostalgic touch to the event.
The Norman Tart Competition: A Gourmet Tradition
One of the festival's highlights is the Norman tart competition, which brings together about ten amateur participants competing to offer the best apple or seasonal fruit tart. This friendly and gourmet moment, followed by public tasting, embodies the spirit of the Norman terroir and the event's conviviality.
Étrépagny: A Dynamic Town in Vexin Normand
Étrépagny, a town of approximately 3,700 inhabitants, is located in the Vexin Normand region, north of the Eure department, halfway between Gisors and Les Andelys. The beautifully maintained public garden provides an ideal setting for this spring event. The town, active culturally and associatively, regularly organizes events that liven up local life and strengthen social bonds.
A Free and Friendly Event
The Fête des Fleurs et de l'Artisanat is a free event, accessible to all. Food and drink are available on-site, allowing visitors to extend their visit pleasantly. The family atmosphere, the quality of the exhibitors, and the beauty of the setting make it a must-attend spring event in Vexin Normand.
