The day begins at 7:00 AM with the setup of a flea market and antique market on the Place du Monturuc, which runs until 7:00 PM. Visitors can browse for old items, second-hand goods, and curiosities in a friendly atmosphere. In the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, a folk group performs, offering traditional dances and music. In the evening, from 9:00 PM, a free popular ball entertains the square until 1:00 AM, allowing participants to dance in a festive atmosphere by the water.
The most spectacular moment of the Fête du Monturuc takes place at 10:30 PM: the descent of the Dordogne in illuminated barges with torches. These traditional flat-bottomed boats, once used for transporting goods on the river, majestically descend the Dordogne River, lit by torches and lights, creating a magical spectacle. At 11:00 PM, fireworks are set off, illuminating the sky and the river, offering a pyrotechnic finale enjoyed by all.
