Every early September, the town of Marcoussis celebrates the start of the new season by hosting its Village Festival, paired with the traditional Associations Forum. Set in the lush, spacious grounds of the Parc des Célestins on Allée Molière, this entirely free event has become the must-attend community gathering in the Essonne region. Festivities traditionally begin with a pigeon release.

Marcoussis is a town of approximately 8,000 residents with a rich historical heritage, most notably the ruins of the Célestins convent. Founded by Jean de Montagu in the early 15th century—with the first stone laid in 1404—these ruins give their name to the park that hosts the festival. This centuries-old history lends a unique character to the village festival, anchoring the event in a place steeped in memory and beauty.
