The highlight of the evening is the pyromelodic show launched at 11:00 PM over Parc Léo Lagrange: a fireworks display synchronized to music, located just a few minutes' walk from the city center. Bastille Day in Reims: A Night of Free Festivities
Every year, the City of Reims hosts Bastille Day celebrations with a program of free events open to everyone. Traditionally held on the evening of July 13th, the eve of the national holiday, it is one of the highlights of the summer in Reims.
A Three-Part Program
- 7:30 PM - Military Parade: The traditional troop parade on Avenue Paul Marchandeau, attended by civil and military authorities.
- 9:00 PM - Grand Open-Air Concert: Held at the René Tys complex parking lot, this free, no-reservation concert draws between 10,000 and 15,000 spectators.
- 11:00 PM - Pyromelodic Show: Launched from Parc Léo Lagrange, the fireworks display is visible from many points across the city and attracts approximately 35,000 spectators.
The Fireworks: The Evening's Grand Finale
This is the main event most people come for: a pyromelodic show, where fireworks are perfectly synchronized to a musical soundtrack. The display begins at 11:00 PM over Parc Léo Lagrange, located just a short walk from the city center, allowing large crowds to gather without straying far from the cathedral. Most spectators congregate in the park after the concert, and the evening concludes around 11:30 PM.
The Concert: Just Before the Fireworks
Each year, the City books a popular headliner for the open-air stage set up at the René Tys complex parking lot. In 2026, Jérémy Frerot will kick things off at 9:00 PM for a free, no-reservation concert before the crowd heads to the park for the fireworks.
Security and Access
Access to the event sites is controlled: there are five entry points with security pat-downs and visual bag checks. Gates open at 5:30 PM, so it is best to arrive early. Bicycles and electric scooters are prohibited on-site. Regarding traffic, the A344 motorway exit ramps (Reims-Cathédrale) will be closed from 1:00 PM on July 13th to 3:00 AM on July 14th, with restrictions around Parc Léo Lagrange, Chaussée Bocquaine, and Avenue Marchandeau. The Grand Reims Mobilités network will adjust its services; arriving on foot, by tram, bus, or train remains the easiest option.
