Indie, rock, and punk festival at Fort de Tourneville in Le Havre
The Foul Weather Festival is an independent music festival organized by the association Fake Live at Fort de Tourneville in Le Havre. Every year in May, over two days, the festival brings together sixteen international bands on three stages — Le Tetris, La Halle, and the Garage — for a program resolutely focused on punk, indie rock, and post-punk. With its DJ sets, its free-access garage stage, and its overflowing energy, Foul Weather has established itself as the unmissable event for the independent scene in Normandy.
The Foul Weather Festival was born from the association Fake Live's passion for independent music and sonic discoveries from around the world. Since its creation, this festival in Le Havre has cultivated a resolutely punk and DIY (Do It Yourself) spirit, favoring artists who challenge conventions and blur the lines between genres. The festival's very name — literally "bad weather" — is a nod to Le Havre's climate and the rebellious spirit that animates this event, where rain has never stopped anyone from dancing.
The Foul Weather Festival takes over the Fort de Tourneville, a former military site converted into a cultural hub on the heights of Le Havre. The concerts are spread across three stages with distinct atmospheres. Le Tetris, the fort's contemporary music venue, hosts the headliners in a high-energy atmosphere. La Halle, a covered space with an industrial character, offers a raw setting for the most intense concerts. And the Garage stage, outdoors and free-access, features DJ sets and one-man/woman bands in a relaxed atmosphere, open to all.
With around fifteen international bands at each edition, Foul Weather offers a striking panorama of the global independent scene. Indie rock, post-punk, punk, shoegaze, psychedelic, electro rock: genres cross and collide in a lineup where each name is a promise of discovery. Artists like Vundabar, Warmduscher, Heartworms, Bananagun, Enola Gay, Opus Kink, and Lime Garden have marked recent editions, confirming the festival's reputation as a talent scout.
Behind Foul Weather is the association Fake Live, a key player in the Le Havre music scene. True to its reputation for electrifying concerts and unbridled stage presence, Fake Live books artists who give their all on stage. The festival complements its musical offerings with food trucks serving local products, bars, and surprises to discover. A weekend in May in Le Havre where bad weather becomes the best excuse to party.
