Gamers Assembly: 25 Years of Esports Excellence in Poitiers

Created in 2000 by the association FuturoLAN, Gamers Assembly began as a modest LAN party gathering around a hundred passionate gamers. In twenty-five years, it has become the largest gathering for video games and esports in France, attracting over 2,000 competitors and tens of thousands of visitors to the heart of the Vienne region each year.

A Journey Marked by Success

The event was first held in Saint-Benoît in 2001, before moving to the Futuroscope Congress Center in 2003, and finally settling at the Parc des Expositions de Poitiers since 2014. Since 2019, the festival has been known as Gamers Assembly: Festival Edition (GA:FE), reflecting its transformation from a purely competitive LAN party to a true public festival.

High-Level Esports Tournaments

Gamers Assembly hosts around twenty tournaments each year on the biggest competitive titles: League of Legends (Nexus Tour stage), Valorant (Spike Tour stage), Counter-Strike 2, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, StarCraft II, and Pokémon Unite. The cash prizes amount to tens of thousands of euros and attract the best French and European teams.

A Festival for All Audiences

Beyond the competition, Gamers Assembly offers a rich and varied program across 16,000 m²: cosplay contests with the Concours Général and Tournament of Champions, a retro gaming area, Indie Assembly highlighting French independent studios, concerts, conferences, meet-and-greets with content creators, and the famous Regional Final of the Trophée des Séniors for intergenerational exchanges. The free play area accommodates over 600 gamers in a friendly LAN party atmosphere.

International Reach

Since 2025, its 25th-anniversary edition, Gamers Assembly has been expanding internationally, notably welcoming a Nigerian delegation with its independent studios and esports champions. The event is also broadcast live on Twitch, reaching an audience far beyond the walls of the Parc des Expositions.

Gamers Assembly — edition 2026

Gamers Assembly returns from April 4-6, 2026, to the Parc des Expositions in Poitiers for a new edition of its festival dedicated to video games, esports, and gaming culture. Competitive tournaments, cosplay, family entertainment, and a free play area are on the program.

2026 Edition

The Gamers Assembly: Festival Edition 2026 will take over the Parc des Expositions in Poitiers from April 4-6 for three days of esports competitions, entertainment, and meet-ups. The program promises high-level tournaments, including the Winamax Counter-Strike 2 Trophy integrated into the VRS circuit (Valve Regional Standings) with 64 teams and up to €15,000 in cash prizes.
