Garçon, la Note ! : Summer music in the heart of Grand Dax
Since 2013, the Garçon, la Note ! festival has transformed the summer evenings of Grand Dax into a vast open-air stage. The concept is as simple as it is effective: throughout the summer, free concerts are scheduled in the bars, restaurants, and emblematic venues of the territory, offering residents and visitors an accessible and diverse musical program.
A festival in the city
The originality of Garçon, la Note ! lies in its itinerant format. Each concert takes place in a different venue: café terraces, restaurant gardens, public squares, historic mills, or even wine estates. More than 25 partner venues in Dax, Saint-Paul-lès-Dax, Mées, Heugas, Bénesse-lès-Dax, and the towns of Grand Dax host the musicians. Bars and restaurants set up tables and chairs to make way for the artists in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
An eclectic program
The festival offers a wide and varied musical palette:
- Soul and funk: danceable grooves for lively evenings
- Rock and pop: from revisited classics to original creations
- Reggae and world music: rhythms from around the world to travel from Grand Dax
- French chanson: singer-songwriters and festive covers
- Jazz and blues: intimate atmospheres in cozy settings
More than 30 concerts per summer
Each edition features around 34 dates, almost one concert per weekday evening throughout the summer. Concerts start at 9 PM and are completely free, with no reservation required. It is this accessibility that makes the festival strong, allowing everyone to enjoy a quality musical moment in a friendly setting.
A quarter of a century of music
While the concept of Garçon, la Note ! was conceived in Auxerre in 2000, it was transposed to the spa town of Dax in 2013. In 2024, the festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in Dax with 35 concerts, 39 bands, and 35 different venues. The 2025 edition celebrates a quarter-century of the original concept, confirming the vitality and attractiveness of this popular musical event.
