Guitare en Cher in Civray-de-Touraine

Guitare en Cher is a festival dedicated to the guitar held annually in June on the banks of the Cher, in Civray-de-Touraine, Indre-et-Loire. Created in 2022 by three passionate local elected officials – Gérald Moizan, Florian Le Squer, and Sylvain Thuissard – this human-sized festival celebrates the guitar in all its forms in an enchanting natural setting, near the Château de Chenonceau.

A Day Dedicated to the Guitar

The festival takes place over an entire day, from noon to midnight, offering a rich and varied program:

  • Open-air concerts: several bands and solo artists perform on stage, from blues to rock, folk, Celtic, and French chanson.
  • Master classes: experienced guitarists share their expertise with participants.
  • Music discovery workshops: in partnership with local music schools, workshops are offered for children and beginners.
  • Open stage: an open stage allows amateur guitarists to perform in front of the audience.
  • Instrument swap meet: a musical flea market to find used guitars and accessories.
  • Fireworks display: the day concludes with a pyrotechnic show.

2025 Lineup

The 2025 edition notably featured Ady One Woman Band, Tito Nabat, Calibre 12, Gérald Moizan, Gleanntan, and a finale featuring Norbert Krief, Gérald Moizan, and Yannick Bouvet.

Affordable Pricing

The festival is accessible for a symbolic fee of 5 euros, free for those under 18. This pricing policy reflects the organizers' desire to make music accessible to as many people as possible.

An Exceptional Natural Setting

Concerts take place on Rue de l'Écluse, on the communal grounds along the Cher river. This bucolic setting, with views of the river and hillsides, offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food and drinks complete the offering for a full day of celebration.
