Guitar festival on the banks of the Cher in Civray-de-Touraine, Indre-et-Loire
Guitare en Cher is a festival dedicated to the guitar held annually in June on the banks of the Cher, in Civray-de-Touraine, Indre-et-Loire. Created in 2022 by three passionate local elected officials – Gérald Moizan, Florian Le Squer, and Sylvain Thuissard – this human-sized festival celebrates the guitar in all its forms in an enchanting natural setting, near the Château de Chenonceau.
The festival takes place over an entire day, from noon to midnight, offering a rich and varied program:
The 2025 edition notably featured Ady One Woman Band, Tito Nabat, Calibre 12, Gérald Moizan, Gleanntan, and a finale featuring Norbert Krief, Gérald Moizan, and Yannick Bouvet.
The festival is accessible for a symbolic fee of 5 euros, free for those under 18. This pricing policy reflects the organizers' desire to make music accessible to as many people as possible.
Concerts take place on Rue de l'Écluse, on the communal grounds along the Cher river. This bucolic setting, with views of the river and hillsides, offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food and drinks complete the offering for a full day of celebration.

The 5th edition of the Guitare en Cher festival takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2 PM to midnight, on the communal grounds on the banks of the Cher, rue de l'Écluse in Civray-de-Touraine, near the Château de Chenonceau. The festival offers a full day combining open-air concerts, masterclasses, an open stage, a village of luthier exhibitors, and closing fireworks.
The 2026 program alternates regional acts and national headliners on the main riverside stage, including:
Before the evening concerts, the Municipal Music School of Civray-de-Touraine and partner music schools take to the stage (3 PM, 4:30 PM), alongside a masterclass led by Néo Géo Fanatic / Gérald Moizan at 2 PM. Cat J Swing entertains the village throughout the afternoon.
The festival hosts two open stage slots (2 PM and 4 PM, prior registration required) for amateur guitarists wishing to perform in front of the public. From 2 PM to 8 PM, the exhibitors' village brings together luthiers, string manufacturers, plectrums, and guitar-related activities. The Broc'MusiK, a musical flea market (instruments, equipment, records), is open from 12 PM to 8 PM.
Designed as an event accessible to all ages, Guitare en Cher takes place outdoors in a bucolic setting by the river. Food and drink available on site, free parking nearby, camping facilities for festival-goers from afar. The entrance fee remains voluntarily low, at 7 €, with free admission for those under 18.
Site opens at 12 PM (Broc'MusiK) and 2 PM (exhibitors' village, stage).
