Discontinued rockabilly and country festival (Rouziers-de-Touraine, 2016-2018)
ℹ️ Discontinued festival. The Hillbilly Bop Festival is no longer active. The event ran for three editions between 2016 and 2018 and has not been held since. There are no future editions scheduled.
The Hillbilly Bop Festival was dedicated to 1950s American music—including rockabilly, country, hillbilly, and western swing—and was hosted in the Touraine countryside at Rouziers-de-Touraine, about ten kilometers north of Tours. It took place at the Espace culturel Les Quatre Vents.
Launched in 2016, the festival held its inaugural event that year, followed by a second in 2017, and a third and final edition from October 12 to 14, 2018. The festival aimed to bring top-tier rockabilly and country acts to the stage, some of whom had never performed in France before.
Beyond the concerts, each edition featured a vendor market (vintage clothing, decor, and records), Cajun and Tex-Mex food, a car & bike show displaying American and classic vehicles, and a flea market on Sunday.
The third Hillbilly Bop Festival was held from October 12 to 14, 2018, at the Espace culturel Les Quatre Vents in Rouziers-de-Touraine. This marked the final edition, as the festival has not been held since.
The program offered a full weekend of 1950s American immersion: live rockabilly, country, hillbilly, and western swing music, a marketplace for vintage clothing, decor, and records, Cajun and Tex-Mex dining, a car and bike show featuring American and classic vehicles, and a flea market on Sunday.
