ℹ️ Festival discontinued. Horizons Numériques, the digital creation festival of the Département des Hautes-Pyrénées at the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu, no longer seems to be held today. The last publicly documented edition was the 9th, organized on September 2 and 3, 2017. The abbey's 2026 cultural program (visits, exhibitions, concerts) no longer mentions this digital event.

Digital Creation at the Heart of Heritage

Horizons Numériques was a digital creation festival organized by the Département des Hautes-Pyrénées. The event took place at the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu, a remarkable heritage site that offered an exceptional setting for digital and interactive works. Launched in 2009, it returned every year at the beginning of September.

An Immersive Program

The festival offered a rich and varied program combining:

• Interactive installations: luminous pedal machines, sensory sound wall, augmented agricultural greenhouse
• Virtual reality: immersive experiences and VR headsets
• Performances: shows blending art and technology

The Abbaye de l'Escaladieu

The Abbaye de l'Escaladieu, founded in the 12th century, is a jewel of the Cistercian heritage of the Hautes-Pyrénées. This historic site, located in the commune of Bonnemazon, offered a striking contrast between medieval architecture and contemporary digital creation. The abbey remains open for visits today and offers a cultural program throughout the year (exhibitions, concerts, visits).
