About ImageSingulières
ImageSingulières was a documentary photography festival which took place in Sète (Hérault) from 2009 to 2023, organized by the CéTàVOIR association. Its last edition (the 15th) took place in 2023. Since 2024, the association has left Sète for the Cévennes and has abandoned the festival format.
Festival discontinued. ImageSingulières was created in 2009 in Sète by the CéTàVOIR association. For about fifteen years, this documentary photography festival enlivened the streets, quays, and galleries of Sète each spring (May-June) for nearly three weeks, with exhibitions, screenings, residencies, and a photographic commission book on the city.
In 2024, CéTàVOIR (Gilles Favier and Valérie Laquittant) began its ecological transition and left the Mediterranean coast to settle in the Cévennes, in Aumessas (Gard). The festival format has been abandoned: starting in 2026, ImageSingulières will become an artistic residency space, a resource center, and a place for meetings and reflection around documentary, with ecological transition issues at the heart of its project. The photographic center in Sète has closed.
The 15th edition in 2023 remains to this day the last edition of the festival in Sète.
ImageSingulières — edition 2026
ImageSingulières does not have a 2026 edition. The documentary photography festival, organized every spring in Sète by the CéTàVOIR association from 2009 to 2023, has stopped: its last edition (the 15th) took place in 2023. Since 2024, CéTàVOIR has left Sète for the Cévennes (Aumessas, Gard) and has abandoned the festival format in favor of a place for residencies and dissemination around documentary photography. No ImageSingulières festival will be held in Sète in 2026.
