Japan Manga Wave is Amiens' premier manga and pop culture convention, brought to you by Shuriken Events. After several successful years at Mégacité, the event moved to the Zénith Amiens Métropole on Avenue de l'Hippodrome in September 2025. For one weekend, the venue becomes a hub for fans of manga, anime, cosplay, video games, tattooing, Asian music, and Japanese culture, featuring cosplay competitions, special guests, exhibitors, creative workshops, a gaming zone, and Japanese street food.

Japan Manga Wave returns to the Zénith Amiens Métropole on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturday and until 6:00 PM on Sunday. Shuriken Events expects over 8,000 visitors to celebrate manga, anime, cosplay, video games, and Japanese culture, featuring a three-stage cosplay contest, a Gaming Zone, tattoo artists, a shopping area, and six bookable workshops. Tickets are available on Billetweb; the full schedule and guest list have not yet been announced.

Japan Manga Wave 2026 in Amiens

The convention takes place on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Zénith Amiens Métropole, 99 bis avenue de l'Hippodrome. Doors open at 10:00 AM for VIP pass holders and 10:30 AM for the general public, closing at 6:30 PM on Saturday and 6:00 PM on Sunday. The organizer, Shuriken Events, anticipates over 8,000 attendees.

What to expect

The weekend is structured around four main pillars: concerts and guests, gaming and arcades, dining, and the cosplay show. The cosplay contest runs continuously across three stages. The Gaming Zone features arcade cabinets, retro-gaming, and tournaments. Japanese-inspired tattoo artists will be working on-site, and the shopping area offers manga, figurines, exclusive items, and Japanese imports. For food, enjoy ramen, sushi, bubble tea, Asian street food, and matcha tea tastings.

Six workshops are available as optional add-ons after ticket purchase: Japanese cooking, matcha preparation, custom Pokéball creation, terrariums, jewelry making, and a gaming tournament. Spots are limited.

Upcoming schedule

As of mid-August 2026, the schedule on the official website only shows opening and closing times: slots from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday and the 11:00 AM slot on Sunday are marked as "to be announced." No guests have been named on the website or Roster Con. Announcements will be made throughout the summer on the official website and the convention's social media channels.

Tickets are on sale via Billetweb. Presale tickets offer a reduced rate and a gift with every order. Admission is free for children under 6, seniors over 65, and people with disabilities. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, unless the event is officially cancelled.

Getting There

By car: The Zénith Amiens Métropole is located at 99 bis Avenue de l'Hippodrome, in the north of Amiens. Accessible via the A16 or A29 motorways, with visitor parking nearby.

By train: Amiens train station, then continue by bus or taxi.

By bus: Use the Ametis network.

Japan Manga Wave: The Amiens Manga and Pop Culture Convention

Japan Manga Wave is produced by Shuriken Events, the team behind various manga and pop culture conventions across France, including events in Amiens, Rennes, Colmar, Caen, and La Roche-sur-Foron. In Amiens, the November 18th and 19th, 2023 edition was the second to be held, followed by further events in June and November 2024 at Mégacité on Avenue de l'Hippodrome. Since September 27th and 28th, 2025, the convention has been hosted at the Zénith Amiens Métropole.

What to Expect

The convention celebrates all things manga, anime, cosplay, video games, tattooing, Asian music, and Japanese culture. Recent editions have featured cosplay contests and parades, retro gaming and tournaments, karaoke, Just Dance, J-pop and K-pop concerts, meet-and-greets, autograph sessions, conferences, creative workshops (calligraphy, drawing, Japanese cooking, and figurine making), as well as Japanese street food and various exhibitor stands.

The Zénith is located at 99 bis Avenue de l'Hippodrome, in the north of Amiens. The venue has hosted the convention since 2025, following its initial years at Mégacité, which is located on the same avenue.
