Jazz a la Sout Summer, traveling jazz with a stage truck
The Summer Festival of Jazz a la Sout was born in 2022 as a summer complement to the renowned autumn festival. Organized by the association Musique(s) en Marche (MeM), it uses a fitted stage truck acquired by the association in 2021 to bring jazz closer to the residents.
A tour of Creuse in music
For a week in July, the stage truck stops each day in a different town: La Souterraine, Merinchal, Ajain, Felletin, Bussiere-Dunoise, Boussac, and Auzances. Each stop hosts a different band for a friendly, accessible open-air jazz evening.
Swing and musical diversity
The summer program focuses on swing, but each band brings its own personality and style. The summer festival contributes to the democratization of jazz in rural areas and offers privileged musical moments in towns often far from traditional cultural circuits.
Jazz a la Sout Summer — edition 2026
The 5th edition of the Jazz a la Sout Summer Festival will be held in July 2026. The stage truck will tour the towns of Creuse for another week of traveling open-air jazz. The program will be announced on jazzalasout.com.
