The Jeux de Contis are an institution in Contis-Plage, a seaside hamlet in the commune of Saint-Julien-en-Born in the Landes. Every year in July, this major sporting and festive celebration enlivens the village for five days, bringing together permanent residents, holidaymakers, and families in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Sports competitions for everyone
The Jeux de Contis program offers a wide range of sports events accessible to all levels. Competitions include fishing tournaments at sea and in freshwater, tennis tournaments, beach volleyball, 3x3 basketball, pétanque, and running races. Traditional Landes disciplines are also featured with quilles de 6, belt throwing, and the famous slow bicycle race, an event as technical as it is comical.

A fireworks display as the highlight
The highlight of the week is the grand fireworks display on Sunday evening from Contis beach. This pyrotechnic show, visible from the dunes and the beach, concludes the Jeux de Contis in a burst of wonder. The award ceremony for the winners of the various events precedes the fireworks, creating a moment of sharing and collective celebration.
