La Bouillie à Sosso: a solidarity festival rooted in Vendée

Born in 2002 from the will of a handful of enthusiasts, the festival La Bouillie à Sosso has established itself as a must-see event on the rural Vendée music scene. Every first Saturday of August, the village of Cheffois opens wide the doors of its Vallée Verte site to welcome up to 3,000 festival-goers for an evening of music, celebration, and solidarity.

An eclectic and festive pop-rock lineup

True to its pop-rock DNA, La Bouillie à Sosso offers a lineup each year mixing established artists and emerging talents. Over the years, the festival has hosted bands like Superbus, 47ter, Hyphen Hyphen, Boulevard des Airs, Elmer Food Beat, Cali, Pony Pony Run Run, Les Fatals Picards, and Merzhin. The spirit of discovery remains at the heart of the programming, with a place reserved for local artists and rising bands.

An exemplary solidarity commitment

Since 2008, La Bouillie à Sosso has forged a lasting partnership with the Banque Alimentaire (Food Bank). At the festival entrance, each festival-goer is invited to bring a standard-sized can, exchanged for a €2 consumption ticket usable on site. This simple and generous initiative allows for the collection of several hundred kilos of food each year, redistributed to people in precarious situations.

A green theater in the heart of the bocage

The Vallée Verte site offers a rural and friendly setting, set up as a true open-air theater with a stage, bar, catering, and themed decorations. The warm atmosphere, driven by a dedicated team of volunteers, makes each edition a unique moment of sharing in southern Vendée.
