The free music and street arts festival in Tullins
Created in 2013 in Tullins by the FADER association (Musique En Été), La Girafe Estivale is an entirely free festival combining live music and street arts. Organized solely by volunteers with the technical and financial support of the City of Tullins, it takes over the Parc du Clos des Chartreux and the town center squares every year at the end of June. Open to all audiences, this festive and popular event offers concerts, street performances, family activities, and local food in a green setting at the foot of the Vercors.
Since its creation in 2013, La Girafe Estivale has established itself as a must-attend festive event in the town of Tullins, in the south of the Pays voironnais region of Isère. Born from the initiative of the FADER association (Musique En Été Association Fader) and the City of Tullins, this entirely free festival is driven by a team of passionate volunteers who work year-round to offer a cultural event accessible to everyone.
La Girafe Estivale stands out for its multidisciplinary program that harmoniously blends live music concerts and street art performances. The festival stages feature a variety of bands – rock, French chanson, world music, reggae, brass bands, and festive music – while the streets and squares of Tullins are enlivened by theater, circus, dance, and visual arts companies, creating surprise moments for spectators of all ages.
The DNA of La Girafe Estivale is built on strong values: total freeness, volunteer commitment, and openness to all audiences. The festival is built by and for the local community, with the active participation of dozens of volunteers who handle logistics, public reception, catering, and technical aspects. Each edition is funded by public grants, sponsorships, and the technical and financial support of the municipality of Tullins.
The festival takes place in the magnificent Parc du Clos des Chartreux, a 35-hectare estate featuring centuries-old trees, rare species from around the world, and a body of water. Formerly owned by Carthusian monks dating back to the 13th century, this park offers a remarkable natural setting with breathtaking views of the Chartreuse and Vercors mountain ranges. The music stages are set up in this bucolic environment, while street arts also take over the squares and alleys of the historic town center of Tullins.
La Girafe Estivale embodies a vision of popular and accessible culture. By offering a quality free event in a modest-sized town, the festival contributes to the cultural dynamism of the Pays voironnais and the Isère region. It provides a festive and friendly alternative to the region's large, paid festivals, proving that an ambitious cultural event can be created through the collective energy of volunteers and the support of local authorities.
La Girafe Estivale returns on June 26th and 27th, 2026, at Parc du Clos des Chartreux and in the town center of Tullins. The free music and street arts festival, supported by the FADER association and volunteers, will offer two days of concerts, street performances, and family activities with free access.
La Girafe Estivale returns for a new edition on June 26th and 27th, 2026, at the Parc du Clos des Chartreux and in the streets of the historic center of Tullins. The festival, still entirely free, continues to celebrate music and street arts in a popular and convivial spirit.
Organized by the FADER association (Musique En Été) with the technical and financial support of the City of Tullins, La Girafe Estivale remains true to its founding values: total freeness, volunteer commitment, and cultural accessibility. The call for volunteers is launched before each edition to form the teams for reception, catering, logistics, and technical support.
The 2026 program will feature a mix of concerts on several stages in the heart of Parc du Clos des Chartreux and street art performances in the historic town center of Tullins. Musical styles will cover a broad festive spectrum – rock, chanson, world music, brass bands – while street companies will take over the squares and alleys with theater, circus, and artistic performances.
The Parc du Clos des Chartreux, with its 35 hectares of green spaces, ancient trees, and panoramic views of the Chartreuse and Vercors mountain ranges, offers an ideal setting to enjoy open-air concerts and a shared festive moment with family or friends. The detailed program will be announced in the spring of 2026.
The festival takes place at the Parc du Clos des Chartreux and in the town center of Tullins (38210). Le Clos des Chartreux is a 35-hectare park located in the heart of the town, housing the Tullins Town Hall.
Free parking is available near the Parc du Clos des Chartreux and in the town center.
The festival is entirely free. Access to all concerts and shows is free, without reservation or ticketing. La Girafe Estivale is funded by public grants, sponsorships, and the support of the City of Tullins.
Food stalls and a bar are available on the festival site, with local products and affordable prices. Volunteers from the FADER association manage the service.
The festival takes place over two days, usually the last weekend of June. Street performances and activities start in the early afternoon, and concerts continue into the evening. Detailed schedules are announced before each edition on the festival's social media.
La Girafe Estivale is an all-audiences event, accessible to families with children. The Parc du Clos des Chartreux offers large green spaces ideal for relaxation and games.
