Laon Medieval Festival
Medieval market and jousting at the foot of the Laon ramparts
2026
About Laon Medieval Festival
Every year in early September, Laon brings its medieval past to life. Artisan markets, historical reenactment camps, tournaments, and equestrian jousting fill the Promenade de la Citadelle, the North Rampart, and the cathedral square. The city organizes these two days around a new theme each year, featuring a costumed parade and a night show in front of the Gothic facade.
Laon Medieval Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition takes place on September 5th and 6th around the Promenade de la Citadelle, the North Ramparts, Place Aubry, and the Parvis Gautier-de-Mortagne. The event features a medieval market, artisan, military, and Viking encampments, and equestrian jousting, with a costumed parade and fire show rounding off Saturday's festivities.
