Laughter & Heritage
An afternoon of live performance at the Saint-Papoul Abbey-Cathedral
2026
About Laughter & Heritage
Every year, during the European Heritage Days weekend, the Saint-Papoul Abbey-Cathedral opens its doors for an afternoon of live entertainment: the Rires & Patrimoine festival. Workshops, circus acts, music, and street performances take over the monument's grounds, with each edition featuring a unique program brought to life by regional troupes.
Laughter & Heritage — edition 2026
During the European Heritage Days, the Saint-Papoul Abbey-Cathedral opens its doors for an entire afternoon of live performance, once again in collaboration with Marie Salvetat from Rouge Carmen. The program features play areas designed by Graines de Jeux, an electronic siesta by La Complète, and the circus show SMACK by the La Bonne Pioche company, followed by a concert from the Grassparossa company.
Organized by the Arts en Patrimoine association, this event is part of the abbey's summer cultural season and takes place annually during the European Heritage Days. Previous editions have featured workshops (screen printing, floral headpieces), street performances, and concerts held within the monument's cloister and gardens.
