About Le Bruit de la Musique

Le Bruit de la Musique is a contemporary and experimental music festival that takes place every summer in the towns of Domeyrot, Toulx-Sainte-Croix, Clugnat and Saint-Silvain-sous-Toulx in Creuse. Created in 2013, this festival offers three days of sound adventures mixing composed music (contemporary, concrete, electroacoustic, experimental), freely improvised music, contemporary dance, experimental cinema and artistic performances. Probably the most 'cagien' and most rural of experimental music festivals.

A festival of sound adventures in the heart of the Creuse countryside

Le Bruit de la Musique is a unique festival, nestled in the heart of the Creuse countryside between the towns of Domeyrot, Toulx-Sainte-Croix, Clugnat and Saint-Silvain-sous-Toulx. Since its creation in 2013, this three-day festival in August offers sound and artistic adventures that explore the boundaries of contemporary musical creation. Often described as 'the most cagien and most rural of experimental music festivals', it cultivates a spirit of openness and discovery.

Composed, improvised music and multidisciplinary arts

The festival's program presents a balanced mix of composed music — contemporary, concrete, electroacoustic, experimental — and freely improvised music. The festival also hosts artistic performances, contemporary dance, experimental cinema, and sound installations. Discussed breakfasts, workshops, and musical walks complete the program, creating moments of sharing between artists and the public.

An art of listening and surprise

Le Bruit de la Musique is based on simple ideas: sharing listening moments, bringing together rare music and unique artists, inviting the public to cultivate a taste for surprise. The festival offers a rediscovery of the primary and forgotten sensations that sound provides, imagining links between nature and culture, lifting the veil of habits, and choosing astonishment in the face of the unknown. A closing traditional dance party (bal trad) punctuates each edition, creating a bridge between tradition and experimentation.
