Le Printemps Palladien: An Exceptional Floral Event

Le Printemps Palladien is an international plant festival held annually in the sumptuous setting of Château de Syam, in the Jura region. Presented as one of the largest floral and botanical festivals in Europe, this event transforms the park of the Villa Palladienne into a spectacular ephemeral garden for three days.

The Villa Palladienne of Syam: A Unique Setting

The Villa Palladienne of Syam is an exceptional historical monument, unique in France. Built in the 19th century based on the model of Andrea Palladio's villas in the Veneto region, it offers a remarkable architectural setting in the heart of the Ain valley. Its landscaped park, Italian gardens, and preserved natural environment provide the ideal backdrop for a festival dedicated to plants and garden art.

A Large Plant Market

The heart of Le Printemps Palladien is a vast plant market bringing together dozens of nursery owners, horticulturists, and specialized producers from all over France and Europe. Visitors can discover and purchase:

  • Rare and collectible plants: uncommon botanical varieties
  • Roses and perennials: designer selections
  • Shrubs and trees: species suitable for Jura gardens
  • Aromatic and vegetable plants: for the gourmet garden
  • Bulbs and seeds: seasonal collections

Floral Art and Competitions

The festival features floral art competitions where florists and plant artists compete in creativity to create spectacular arrangements. Floral decorations adorn the entire park and villa, creating a magical atmosphere. Floral art workshops allow the public to learn about floral composition.

Shows, Workshops, and Gastronomy

Beyond the world of plants, Le Printemps Palladien offers a complete experience:

  • Equestrian shows: demonstrations in the castle park
  • Botanical workshops: introductions to gardening, permaculture, and topiary art
  • Conferences: talks by renowned landscape designers and botanists
  • Gastronomic dining: the SisseBisse restaurant and regional food trucks offer quality culinary options
  • Tea room: artisanal pastries by Tibochoc

An Annually Expanding Event

Created recently, Le Printemps Palladien has quickly established itself as a benchmark event in the world of gardens and horticulture. The 2026 edition will have the theme "Le Bal des Oiseaux" (The Birds' Ball), an invitation to celebrate the link between the plant world and avian biodiversity.
