Le Temps d'une Lune: A Musical Journey Through the Nights
Since 2017, the festival Le Temps d'une Lune has offered a unique musical journey through Lille and its metropolis. Organized by the association Attacafa, this nomadic festival takes its name from the time of a lunar revolution, approximately one month, during which concerts are spread out over the weeks like so many musical stops.
World Music in Dialogue
The programming of Le Temps d'une Lune is a subtle tapestry of musical traditions from all corners of the world. Each edition explores a poetic theme that brings together:
- Sufi Music and Sacred Traditions: mystical chants, ritual percussion, and musical poetry.
- Music from the Sahara: Tuareg blues, desert sounds, and nomadic rhythms.
- Palestinian Traditions: dabke, folk songs, and contemporary creations.
- Mediterranean Music: fado, flamenco, malouf, and oud.
- Contemporary Creations: artists who reinvent traditions by blending them with current sounds.
A Nomadic Festival in Exceptional Venues
Le Temps d'une Lune takes over emblematic and intimate venues in the Lille metropolis:
- Le Grand Sud: a performance hall in the Lille-Sud district, the festival's home port.
- Opéra de Lille: for concerts in a majestic setting.
- Le Grand Mix (Tourcoing): a contemporary music venue.
- La Maison Folie Wazemmes: a cultural space in the heart of a popular district.
- Intimate venues: churches, music bars, community halls for acoustic performances and privileged encounters.
The Attacafa Association
The driving force behind the festival, Attacafa (which means 'culture' in Arabic), is a major cultural player in the Wazemmes district and the Lille metropolis. The association also organizes La Louche d'Or and numerous events throughout the year, working for intercultural dialogue and access to culture for all.
