About Les Maynats
30 years of shows for youth
Les Maynats is a performing arts festival dedicated to young audiences and families, organized in the territory of the CCHB (Communauté de Communes de la Haute-Bigorre). Founded in 1995 as a non-profit association, recognized as being of general interest and composed exclusively of volunteers, the association celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026.
The May festival
The main festival takes place every year in May in Pouzac, over three to four days:
- 15 professional companies invited
- 30 performances for young and all audiences
- Free workshops for children
- Children's Ball to close the festival
A year-round program
The association also offers shows in the towns of the territory:
- Les Clins d'œil: Occasional shows in the towns of the CCHB (Ordizan, Montgaillard, Campan, Trébons)
- La Déambule: Parade of circus shows and batucada in the streets of Bagnères-de-Bigorre
- La Randonnée des Maynats: Walking tour punctuated by circus shows and artistic interludes
Commitment to performing arts in rural areas
Les Maynats' mission is to bring performing arts to people who, for various reasons, never attend performance venues, by bringing shows directly to the towns.
Les Maynats — edition 2026
30th anniversary edition of the Les Maynats festival in Pouzac (Hautes-Pyrénées), with a preview on May 13th in Cieutat and the main festival from May 14th to 17th, 2026. Fifteen professional companies, around thirty performances for young audiences and general public, puppets, dance, object theatre, street arts and circus under big top, free workshops for children and closing ball.
30 years of live performances for young audiences
The 2026 edition marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Les Maynats festival, representing, according to the association, nearly 100,000 spectators and 400 shows hosted since 1995 in the territory of the Communauté de Communes de la Haute-Bigorre. For this anniversary, the program brings together 15 professional companies and nearly 30 performances.
Five days of festival
- Wednesday, May 13th — preview in a CCHB village (Cieutat) with « Les Extras Voyages » by Cie Groenland Paradise, preceded by a workshop in schools.
- Thursday, May 14th — Sunday, May 17th — main festival in Pouzac, across several village locations (Salle Edmond Duplan, Salles P. Jérôme north and south, Mairie, ESACTO'LIDO big top, Salle polyvalente).
A multidisciplinary program
The 2026 edition offers puppets, dance, object theatre for toddlers, musical show, crazy street arts, a show by the École Internationale de Cirque de Toulouse (ESACTO'LIDO) under big top, levitating spinning tops and a poetic creation in partnership with the Scène Nationale du Parvis.
Workshops, bar, children's ball
The festival offers fun, artistic and educational free workshops for children, a bar at the height of the little ones, and concludes with the traditional children's ball with a few surprises.
